George Monroe Miller

Huntsville, Ala. Memorial services for George Monroe Miller, 70, Huntsville, were Monday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, Huntsville.

Mr. Miller died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital.

He was born Jan. 26, 1932, in Prescott, Kan., the son of D.A. and Mamie (Purvis) Miller. In 1950, he graduated from Liberty Memorial High School, where he played football and American Legion baseball. He received a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering from Kansas University.

Mr. Miller designed flight hardware for NASA and weapons systems for the military. He was a Korean War veteran.

He married Caroline Holmes on April 23, 1955, in Lawrence, Kan. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Melinda Balance, Madison, Sarah Miller, Fyffe, and Beth Frazier, Woodville; two sisters, Dorothy Miller, Lawrence, Kan., and JoAnn Miller Poe, Ozark, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
