Allen ‘Bud’ Delbert Hout

Graveside services for Allen “Bud” Delbert Hout, 78, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Clinton Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion.

Mr. Hout died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at The Hospice Center, Topeka.

He was born April 9, 1924, in Clinton, the son of Thomas H. and Goldie (Jones) Hout. He had lived in Clinton for most of his life. He attended grade school in Clinton and attended Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence.

From 1944 to 1947, Mr. Hout served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific.

He worked for Hercules Powder Co. for six years and Lawrence Paper Co. for three years. He then was a tube builder for Goodyear Tire Co. for 27 1/2 years.

He married Margaret Moore on Sept. 28, 1948, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Jerry L. and Allen W., both of Lawrence; two sisters, Julia Nadine Christie and Vivian Clough, both of Clinton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
