Eugene C. Foree

Services for Eugene C. Foree, 80, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Foree died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Eudora Nursing Center.

He was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Margaret (Liebenow) Foree.

Mr. Foree was a navigator and pilot in U.S. Naval Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a sale representative in the furniture industry. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church, Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion, Lodge No. 595 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and Kansas City Home Furnishings Representatives Assn.

He married Mildred Richardson on Dec. 10, 1943. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Mark E., Oconomowoc, Wis., and George B., Overland Park; a sister, Patricia Kesner, Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Shriner Children’s Burn Center or to the Alzheimer’s Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
