Area Girls Roundup: Baldwin’s post players pummel Paola in 61-44 win

? Baldwin’s post players Emily Brown, Casey Millstein and Anna Skaggs combined for 41 points in the Bulldogs’ 61-44 victory over Paola on Friday.

“Our inside girls just dominated on offense,” BHS coach Eric Toot said. “We got off to a great first quarter, and defensively we were outstanding.”

Baldwin was coming off a 62-58 loss to Spring Hill on Tuesday, but bounced back against the Panthers.

“I was very worried about going in tonight, and our girls responded very well,” Toot said.

“It was exciting to see us play so well after coming off a big game we couldn’t quite pull out.”

The Bulldogs will play host to Osawatomie on Tuesday.

Ottawa Liz Burks led the victorious Cyclones with 20 points. Lindsey Dieterich scored 18 and Katie Sheffield added 17 for Ottawa. The Cyclones will play host to Kansas City Sumner on Tuesday.

They defeated the Sabres, 81-76, in triple overtime Tuesday.
