Noble services

? Services for Jean Eileen Noble, 80, Oskaloosa, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Valley Falls Cemetery.

Mrs. Noble died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Kelly House Residential Center, Topeka.

She was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Meriden, the daughter of William Edgar and Reba Hazel (Austin) Gibson. She was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, living in the Oskaloosa, Ozawkie and Valley Falls areas. She was a 1939 graduate of Ozawkie High School, and she attended Strickler’s Business College, Topeka.

Mrs. Noble was a homemaker and farm wife. Before her marriage, she worked at the American Society for Soil Conservation Office in Oskaloosa.

She was a 50-year member of Williamstown Assembly of God Church, and the women’s society at the church. She also attended Oskaloosa United Methodist Church and Christ Church, Holton. She was a member of Quilting Club in Oskaloosa and Y.W. Club in Valley Falls.

She married Warren Melvin Noble on April 13, 1941, in Ozawkie. He died March 10, 1994.

Survivors include a son, Edwin L. Noble, Oskaloosa; two daughters, Nancy H. Noble, Mayetta, and Linda M. Buttron, Nortonville; a sister, Delores Brey, Sabetha; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A son, Marion Eugene Noble, died Sept. 19, 1988.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
