Police reports

Someone caused $2,000 damage to a 2-by-3-foot painting at Sigma Chi fraternity house, 1439 Tenn., a Lawrence Police report said. The damage occurred sometime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Friday.

Burglaries and thefts reported

A 23-year-old Lawrence woman reported that someone took her 1997 Honda Civic, worth $10,000, between 1 a.m. and 1:10 a.m. from her residence in the 1000 block of Alma Drive. A Sony portable stereo and 50 compact discs, valued at $700, were inside the car when it was taken.

A 1994 Ford Taurus was reported taken between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday from the 1600 block of Haskell Avenue . A 26-year-old Lawrence woman reported the theft. The car was valued at $5,000.

A Sony DVD player, Sony Playstation and 19 other items were removed between 2:40 a.m. and 3 a.m. Friday from a residence in the 3900 block of Overland Drive, a Lawrence Police report said. The items were valued at $1,140. The theft was reported by a 21-year-old Lawrence man.
