Margaret I. Brun

Mrs. Brun died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at her home.

She was born March 2, 1924, in Atchison, the daughter of Charles E. and Caroline E. (O’Brien) Van Dyke. She graduated from the Academy of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison.

Mrs. Brun was a homemaker. She served as president of the North Lawrence Improvement Assn. and was a member of the Community Development Advisory Board.

She married Warren W. Brun on April 8, 1944, in Fort Pierce, Fla. He died Sept. 11, 2001.

Survivors include three daughters, Judy Meeks, Wichita, Cindy Wallace, Springville, Utah, and Theresa Wagner, Lawrence; a sister, Mildred Johnson, San Antonio; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Douglas County, sent in care of the mortuary.
