Fund-raiser collecting cans

Lawrence Habitat for Humanity is raising funds by recycling aluminum cans.

Delmar Kruse, Horizon Systems Inc. and Immanuel Lutheran Church have constructed a recycling bin at 15th and Iowa streets.

The fund-raising drive is currently averaging around 75 pounds of aluminum a week.

Cans can be dropped off at the new bin or at the Lawrence Habitat for Humanity Office at 412 E. Ninth St. There are also several Habitat for Humanity recycling bins around Lawrence.
