New York ? Mets catcher Mike Piazza left Tuesday night’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals after straining his left hamstring, and center fielder Timo Perez also came out with the same injury.

Backup catcher Vance Wilson came in to run for Piazza and remained in the game behind the plate.
