Celtics activate guard Anderson

Boston  Boston Celtics starting point guard Kenny Anderson was activated from the injured list before Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Anderson missed five games after spraining his left ankle March 24.

The team put rookie guard Joseph Forte back on the injured list to make room for Anderson. Forte was listed with a left ankle sprain.

Anderson has started all 69 games in which he’s played, averaging 9.8 points and 5.3 assists for the Celtics, who were No. 3 in the Eastern Conference heading into the weekend.

Forte has played in eight games. He was placed on the injured list on Feb. 19 with an ankle sprain.

Pistons forward Wallace suffers sprained ankle

Philadelphia  Detroit Pistons forward Ben Wallace sprained his right ankle Friday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Wallace was injured with 3:13 left in the first quarter while going for an offensive rebound against Philadelphia’s Derrick Coleman and Dikembe Mutombo.

Wallace, the team’s leading rebounder averaging 12.9 per game, was helped to the locker room.
