Coffman services

Services for Osy Alice Coffman, 77, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.

Mrs. Coffman died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 7, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Bernard Hosea and Ruth Maria Faye (Jones) Evans. She attended high school in Linwood and moved to Lawrence in 1957.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Linwood.

She married Walter Coffman on Dec. 12, 1942, in Joplin, Mo. He died Jan. 16, 1981.

Survivors include a son, Danniel N., Lawrence; four daughters, Linda Eddy, Topeka, Sylvia Phillips, Salina, Sandy Craig, Lawrence, and Joyce Bruce, Loveland, Colo.; two brothers, Joe Evans, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Bud Evans, Polo, Mo.; three sisters, Ann Barnett, Kansas City, Kan., Doris Reese, McLouth, and Goldie Zimmerli, Bonner Springs; a stepsister, Barbara Mae Blackwell, of California; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A son, David Rex, died April 6, 1958.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials to Linwood Baptist Church, Hospice Care in Douglas County or Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging Inc., sent in care of the funeral home.
