Kansas City, Mo ? Sprint PCS is cutting 91 jobs in an effort to increase the wireless unit’s efficiency, company officials said this week.

The cuts  all from the Kansas City area  include 39 information technology workers and 52 outside contractors.

Sprint has eliminated almost 11,000 jobs since October. Most of the previous cuts had come from its long-distance and local divisions.

In February, Sprint PCS officials announced they were closing the Lawrence Sprint PCS Customer Service Center and eliminating the facility’s 500 jobs by the end of May.
