Runs to raise funds for Douglas County safety net clinic

Kansas Half Marathon 2018
The Kansas Half Marathon and 5K return to Lawrence next week for the 11th year.
The longtime fundraiser used to benefit the Douglas County safety net clinic Health Care Access. Since the two organizations merged in February, this year’s proceeds will benefit Heartland Community Health Center for the first time.
The half marathon begins at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K follows at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 at Watson Park, 727 Kentucky St.
Registration, available online at kansashalfmarathon.com, is $80 for the half marathon or $40 for the 5K race.
