Ogene Johnson and Paula Guffey, Perry, announce the engagement of their daughter, Tara Guffey, to Gregory Dawes, both of Topeka.

The future bride is a 1998 graduate of Eudora High School and is employed by Answer Topeka in Topeka.

The future groom is son of Arlene Dawes, San Jose, Calif., and the late David Dawes. He is a 1997 graduate of Leland High School, San Jose, Calif., and is employed by Applebee’s in Topeka.

The couple plan a Nov. 15, 2009, wedding at Danforth Chapel at Kansas University.
