Amanda Whitaker and Michael Monaghan, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of David Santiago, Reno, Nev., and Leanne Miller, Denver. She is a graduate of Lawrence Alternative High School and Washburn University.
The future groom is the son of John and Janine Monaghan, Lawrence. He is a graduate of Lawrence High School and is attending Johnson County Community College. He is employed by Hetrick Air Service at the Lawrence Municipal Airport.
The couple plan a July 11, 2009, wedding at South Park in Lawrence.
