Baker softball eliminated in Opening Round Championship Series

The No. 2 Baker University softball team saw its season come to an end Wednesday afternoon in the Opening Round Championship Series. The Wildcats fell to No. 1 seeded Marian (Ind.) by scores of 1-0 and 5-0 in Springfield, Missouri.

Baker ends the 2019 campaign with a school-record for wins with a 47-9 overall record, while claiming both the regular season conference and tournament titles. The regular season title earned them their second consecutive bid to the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round, while the conference tournament title was the first in program history.

No. 1 seeded Marian advances to the 2019 NAIA World Series in Springfield, Missouri next week as one of the 10 Opening Round Champions.
