Letter to the editor: Heat endangers all

To the editor:

I’m sure we are all horrified by the number of people who died in the heat wave in the Northwest. We have not had any fatalities so far.

I realize the homeless are only a small part of the people at risk from the heat, which will only get worse.

As a small step, could we not increase the shelter capacity in dangerous heat as we do in dangerous cold?

Lawrence
