Letter to the editor: Capable governors

To the editors:

This is a shout-out to two governors, our own Gov. Laura Kelly and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. I am proud of Gov. Kelly. She and Gov. Cuomo both appear qualified and extremely capable on TV. Our governor does not have the exposure on TV that the New York governor does, but when we see her, her delivery is capable, complete and calm. Gov. Cuomo is the same. We watch his talks as often as possible because we feel we get an honest and comprehensive analysis of the coronavirus problems and attempts to ameliorate those problems. Gov. Cuomo capably and clearly answers questions. He knows details! If he turns to staff people for clarification, they answer like competent administrators. We do not see staff of Gov. Kelly so much, but it is easy to feel that they are on top of the details of their agencies. Apparently other governors are also stepping up to deal with the unique set of problems we are facing. All that really helps in uncertain times.

Lawrence
