A motorcyclist reportedly was transported via air ambulance Friday night after he crashed at 15th and Massachusetts streets while trying to elude law enforcement.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report, the Highway Patrol was pursuing the motorcyclist, 30-year-old Jacob Hale of Eudora, when Hale collided with a Chevrolet Malibu at the intersection of 15th and Massachusetts streets. Hale, who was wearing a helmet, suffered suspected serious injuries, the report said.

Operation 100 News, a service that monitors overnight emergency radio traffic, reported that the motorcyclist was taken by LifeStar helicopter to a hospital. The Highway Patrol report specifies that Hale was taken to the University of Kansas hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

It was unclear from the Highway Patrol’s report what led to the chase.
