CONSENT AGENDA:

CLAIMS:

a) Consider approving all claims. The list of claims will be posted by the Finance Department on Monday prior to the meeting. If Monday is a holiday, the claims will be posted as soon as possible the next business day.

ACTION: Approve claims.

ADOPT ON FIRST READING, THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCES:

a) Consider adopting on first reading, Ordinance No. 9689, allowing the sale, possession, and consumption of alcohol on the public right-of-way on Sunday, August 25, 2019, in the 1100 block of Massachusetts Street for the Kansas State Fiddling & Picking Championship event.

ACTION: Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 9689.

b) Consider adopting on first reading Ordinance No. 9690, allowing the sale, possession, and consumption of alcohol on the public right-of-way on Saturday, September 14, 2019, in the 1100 block of Massachusetts Street for the Be Your Best Self / Hot Rod Hullaballoo event.

ACTION: Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 9690.

c) Consider adopting on first reading Ordinance No. 9691, allowing the sale, possession and consumption of alcohol on the public right-of-way on Saturday, September 14, 2019, in the 700 block of Mississippi Street for the Old West Lawrence Neighborhood Block Party event.

e) Consider adopting on first reading Ordinance No. 9693, allowing the sale, possession and consumption of alcohol on the public right-of-way on Saturday, October 12, 2019, in the 700 block of New Jersey Street for the Van Go, Inc. fundraising event.

f) Consider adopting on first reading Ordinance No. 9694, allowing the sale, possession and consumption of alcohol on the public right-of-way on Saturday, September 14, 2019, in the 1500 block of Prairie Avenue for the Tenants to Homeowners Fundraising event.

B.3 GENERAL CONSENT ITEMS:

a) Consider authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement temporarily exempting Unified School District Number 497 (USD 497) from System Development Charges associated with renovations to Lawrence High School until September 1, 2021 or a later date if the parties have so agreed in writing.

PUBLIC COMMENT

REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS:

1. Considering adopting Resolution No. 7291, declaring certain sidewalks within the city to be hazardous, inadequate, or unsafe for travel, condemning those sidewalks in accordance with city policy, authorizing the code official to make repairs to those sidewalk, and directing the code official to record the costs and expenses related to the making of those repairs, all in accordance with K.S.A. 12-1808, as amended, and city policy.

Consider approving a budget amendment increasing the sidewalk hazard repair project budget (CIP# PW19E5) by an amount of $50,000 in the Capital Improvement Reserve Fund to pay for the up-front cost of private property sidewalks that will be completed by the City under this resolution.

WORK SESSION

2. Receive Plan 2040, a comprehensive plan for Unincorporated Douglas County and the City of Lawrence.

The City Commission will convene at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 6 E. Sixth St.
