Tony Hull strikes again.

For the fourth time since being named the new Kansas running backs coach, the New Orleans native and former NASA engineer has enticed a Louisiana athlete in the Class of 2017 to join the Jayhawks.

Troy James, a three-star defensive end from Baton Rouge, announced on Twitter around 5 p.m. Tuesday that he was orally committing to Kansas.

After thanking a host of people who helped him get to this point, the 6-foot-4, 268-pound D-End from Madison Prep Academy said simply, “I will be spending the next 3 to 4 years advancing my education and playing football at Kansas University.”

In what seemed to be a response to James’ news, Hull also hit up Twitter with a “More boots on the ground in Lawrence baby!!! Tweet of his own.

James picked KU over offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Indiana, Memphis, North Carolina State, SMU and Wake Forest, among others.

He joins four-star defensive back Mike Lee, three-star wide receiver Takulve Williams and three-star athlete Travis Jordan as the first four Louisiana prospects to join Hull in Kansas.

He also becomes the 12th known commitment in KU’s 2017 recruiting class, which now features six three-star prospects and one four-star prospect (Lee).

James’ announcement came just a few hours after KU received a commitment from former Hawaii defensive end Jamie Tago, who will play the 2016 season at Garden City Community College.
