FSHS swimmers first at BVSW

? Free State boys swimming and diving team placed first in 10 of 12 events to win the Blue Valley Southwest triangular Tuesday.

Jordan Portela won two individual events with the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle, and also helped the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams to first-place finishes.

Josh Terrell matched Portela’s two individual titles with victories in the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle, and was also a part of the 200 medley team.

Evan Yoder (200 IM), Evan Eskilson (500 freestyle) and Ethan Kallenberger (100 backstroke) each added event victories for FSHS, as the Firebirds scored 233 total points.

Blue Valley Southwest came in second with 181 and Blue Valley was third with 123.
