LHS softball falls to O-South

? Lawrence High senior Morgan Byrn and junior Sophie Taylor drilled home runs, but Lawrence High’s softball team lost to Olathe South, 12-3, on Thursday at ODAC.

The Falcons took advantage of the Lions’ three errors for five unearned runs, scoring three runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull away.

Taylor, who missed the first three games of the season because of an injury, homered in the sixth inning. She also tripled in the third inning, scoring when Byrn smashed a pitch over the wall.

LHS (1-3) will play in its home opener against Olathe East on Thursday. The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 4:15 p.m.
