Free State wins tennis quad
Topeka ? The No. 1 doubles team of Ian Pultz-Earle and Erik Czapinski went undefeated, and Free State High won a tennis quad with Topeka High, Olathe South and Highland Park on Wednesday at the Kossover Tennis Complex.
Pultz-Earle went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles. Free State’s No. 2 doubles team of Seamus Ryan and Jonah Pester went 2-1.
In singles, Declan Forth (No. 2) and Tucker Nickel (No. 3) each went 2-1, and David Neff was 1-2 at No. 1.
“For the first event of the year, and with the wind conditions as inhospitable as they were, I felt the guys did exceptionally well,” Free State coach Oather Strawderman said. “We are undefeated as a team at this event, and we did a strong job of continuing this trend against both league and regional opponents.”
