Topeka ? Lawrence High had a balanced offensive attack, scoring eight runs on 12 hits, on the way to an 8-1 baseball victory against Topeka Seaman on Friday.

The Lions jumped to a 3-0 lead before LHS starter Brandon Bell took the mound.

“It was nice to come out and draw blood first,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said.

Bell struck out seven Vikings over five innings to pick up the win.

Doug Easum, Parker Kirkpatrick, Drew Green and Mike Sinks each had multi-hit games, and Ryan Walter went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

The Lions (2-1) will play Shawnee Mission West at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at LHS.
