Soccer coaches tap all-staters

Two Lawrence High boys soccer players earned All-State honors from the Kansas Soccer Coaches Association on Monday.

LHS junior midfielder Piper Hubbell and senior defenseman Ellis Springe were both selected for the Class 6A second team.

Mill Valley senior midfielder Dalton Sieperda was chosen for the first team in 5A, while Mill Valley forward Teddy Gillespie, defenseman Bailey Weeks and goalkeeper Austin Dyche were named to the second team.

In 4-1A, Baldwin senior midfielder Joel Dixon and junior sweeper Brendan Owings, Tonganoxie senior forward Asher Huseman, De Soto senior forward Stephen Mitchell and defenseman Justin Slater, and Ottawa senior forward Connor Stepp and senior defenseman Hayden Yancy all earned first team honors. De Soto forward Alex Diaz, defenseman Tanner Post and goalkeeper Dylan Mathern, Baldwin forward Oliver Elphick and defenseman Eli Berndt, and Ottawa midfielder Garrett Cruce and goalkeeper Alex Stepp, were picked for the second team.
