Wilma Dean Watson (Walker) Foulke

Wilma was born September 9, 1927 to Ross and Ruby Watson. She passed on to be with the Lord, January 28, 2018. She spent her childhood in Osawatomie, Kansas. Following her high school education, she graduated with a teaching certificate from Emporia State Teachers College. She taught in a one room school in Anderson County for a brief time. She married Vernon Walter on her birthday in 1947. After leaving Anderson County, they lived in the Sunflower Village, near DeSoto, Kansas before moving to Baldwin City in 1955. Three children were born from this union, Anthony (stillborn), Jeff, 1950 and Pat in 1956. She was an active wife and mother in the Young Mothers Club and Parent Teacher Association in Baldwin. She later worked at Orchard Lane Nursing Home and for King Radio in Ottawa. Her husband Vernon died in 1985 and she later married Bill Foulke. Both Wilma and Bill were baptized into the Church of Christ and were faithful members until their deaths. She was preceded in death by her brother Vernon and parents Ross and Ruby Watson. She is survived by sons Jeff (Audrey), of Los Lunas, New Mexico and Pat (Elizabeth) of Baldwin City, Kansas, eight grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Our mom was a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who loved deeply, baked a lot of cookies was loyal and faithful to the end. She enjoyed, as she often said, “a wonderful life.” She will be greatly missed. Services will be held at the Baldwin Church of Christ, Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with interment following in the Parker Cemetery, Parker, Kansas. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Baldwin Church of Christ on Saturday, February 3, 2018. LambRoberts Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
