Shanxi Jennifer Upsdell, Shawnee, and Ifeoluwa Samuel Omoniyi, Lawrence, were married Aug. 8, 2009, at Providence Community Church, Lenexa, with the Rev. Seth Davidson officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David and Mei Upsdell, Shawnee.
The groom is the son of Abiodun and Folashade Omoniyi, Nigeria, and Taju and Kafayat Hamodu, United Kingdom.
Maid of honor was Lian Upsdell. Best man was Dustin Elliott. Flower girl was Desola Omoniyi. Scripture readers were Jasola and Yosola Omoniyi. Ushers were Travis Richert, Shaun Branham, Courtney Farr, John Randtke and Seth Clock.
A reception was given at the Holiday Inn-Overland Park West.
The bride is a 2004 homeschool graduate and a 2008 graduate of Kansas University. She earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and English and is a copy editor at the Lawrence Journal-World.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Lifeforte International High School in Nigeria and a 2008 graduate of KU. He earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and finance and plans to graduate in December with a master’s degree in economics. He works part time at KU.
The couple reside in Lawrence.
