Masters of Deception! (Politicians) L. Don Oliver

Oh! such fools, we modern receivers; Who bask in lies, of the deceivers;

Saying it is, when it isn't so; Off to the bank, they will go;

It's not their money, deceivers care not; As long as it isn't their personal lot;

Football or basketball, which should we choose; Or will we be sated, with dope and booze;

Persistence! By L. Don Oliver

When I was eight years old, As chubby as I could be; Tommy sent word he wanted To meet under the pecan tree;

The sun was shining brightly, It was a very warm day; I discovered very soon, Tommy was not there to play;

He wanted to fight, And I didn't know why; He swung and missed, And I made him cry;

Happening on several occasions, The outcome was the same; He would start the fracas, And I would end the game;

The last time we met, I didn't have my grip; Tommy swung and hit me, Splitting my upper lip;

It wasn't out of anger, It wasn't just to fight; Tommy kept on trying, Until he got it right;

Inequality! By L. Don Oliver

Oh! impoverished child, Where goes thou? Did thou want? Did thou need? I fear thou did;

Oh! prosperous child, Where goes thou? Thou did not want, Thou did not need, Heredity made it so;

Oh! neglected woman, Where goes thou? Did thou eat? Did thou drink? I fear thou did not;

Oh! egotistical man, Where goes thou? Thou did eat, Thou did drink, Thou caused it to be!

The Little Cloud! By L. Don Oliver

There once was a little cloud, Drifting gently through the sky; Along came the angry wind, And tried to make it cry;

The wind blew and blew, But it was all in vain; No matter how it tried, The little cloud refused to rain;

It drifted above the mountains, There it lingered for a while; It cross the flowering plains, Where it began to smile;

It drifted with the ocean breeze, As it traveled upon it's way; Over islands colored in green, And where the dolphins play;

Then came a raging storm, And gave the little cloud a twirl; Soon it returned to it's course, On it's journey around the world;

Silence of the Deep! By L. Don Oliver

A gentle refreshing sea breeze, Waves splashing upon the shore; Seabirds soaring above me; A beautiful new world to explore;

In the shadows of my soul, The world above me asleep; Slipping slowly beneath the waves, Into the silence of the deep;

Serenity of quite solitude, Rainbow creatures swimming by; Lovely flowering coral reefs, One is thankful to be alive;

Where there's rhyme and reason, No imperative schedule to keep; Controlling my own destiny, In the silence of the deep;

Bubbles from a fissure below, Up through the darkened steep; At peace with the world, In the silence of the deep;

When life has passed me by, Broken dreams never to mend; Things that I once enjoyed, Ever winding down to end;

If to die upon the morrow, With a promise to ever sleep; I pray thee my final rest, In the silence of the deep;

Swampyville Moral Rhymes;

The following poem is based on The Ten Commandments. The best moral guide ever. It is intended as an addition to the Ten Commandments and not as a replacement. I worded it so as not to offend anyone. With the continous argument between Church and State (The Word "God"), this nation's morals are being destroyed. Faith is between an individual and their God and can never be a collective belief!

THE BEST WAY TO DESTROY A MORAL SOCIETY IS TO DESTROY THAT SOCIETY'S MORALS!

The Ten Morals: By L. Don Oliver

It is morally right to have, Faith for what you believe; It is morally wrong to worship, What others contrive to deceive;

It is morally wrong to assail others, Even the words we speak; It is morally right to rest, On one day of each week;

It is morally right to honor parents, Even if there should be strife; It is morally wrong and illegal, To take another person's life;

It is morally right to be honest, To the one you're committed to; It s morally wrong and illegal to take, That which doesn't belong to you;

It is morally wrong to utter untruths, For many it can lead to distress; It is morally wrong to be jealous, Of what others may possess;

I've aways lived by the "Golden Moral", Of everything that I perceive To always do for others, What I wish them to do for me;

The Unfinished Painting! By L. Don Oliver

I have walked this lonely land, Without a song in my heart; Still I see your lovely face, Even though we are miles apart;

I have sailed the seven seas, Never to speak your name out loud; Still I see your lovely face; In every wind blown cloud;

I have climbed the highest mountain, Up where only eagles dare; Still I see your lovely face, But no one seems to care;

In all my hopes and dreams, Wishing you were here by me; My foolish dream of Peace on Earth, Is a portrait that I will never see;
