Two delay-causing projects announced Wednesday for area highways, as reported by the Kansas Department of Transportation:

• Interstate 435: Traffic headed both east and west will encounter “intermittent” lane closures, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, from Interstate 35 to State Line Road in Johnson County. Crews are scheduled to be making pavement repairs, to be completed by Thursday afternoon.

• U.S. Highway 69: Traffic headed both north and south will encounter “varying” lane closures, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., from 151st Street to Interstate 35 in Johnson County. Crews are scheduled to complete pavement repairs Friday.
