Potential delays for Wednesday

A few notes about approaching and completed road projects and repairs, with information from the Kansas Department of Transportation:• Traffic heading east on a section of Interstate 70 in Topeka will be squeezed into one lane Wednesday. The affected stretch will be from Eighth Street to Adams Street/Banner Trafficway. Pavement repairs will force traffic heading east to use only the left lane. The entrance ramps onto eastbound I-70 from both Eighth and 10th street will be closed during repairs, which are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.• For traffic heading north on Interstate 35 in Johnson County, the right lane is scheduled to be closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday from 175th Street to U.S. Highway 169/151st Street/Kansas Highway 7. The anticipated bridge work is scheduled to be finished Wednesday.• For traffic heading west on Interstate 435 in Johnson County, the ramp onto southbound U.S. Highway 69 is scheduled to be closed from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday for pavement repairs. The work is scheduled to be finished Wednesday.• For traffic heading north on U.S. 69 in Johnson County, the right lane is scheduled to be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday for repairs to concrete barriers. For traffic heading south on U.S. 69, the left lane is scheduled to be closed from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday for pavement repairs. Both jobs are scheduled to be finished Wednesday.• In Jefferson County, work to repair the Kansas Highway 16 bridge over Cedar Creek — about 2 miles west of Valley Falls — is done, and the span is once again open to all traffic. Crews removed damaged pavement from the bridge and made repairs, then added a new surface designed to smooth out the pavement and prevent damage from de-icing salts. Wildcat Concrete Services Inc., of Topeka, handled the $238,610 job.
