As wind began picking up early Thursday evening, bringing a few droplets of rain and prompting some beer vendors to close their shops by 5 p.m., Wakarusa's festivalgoers were mixed on the prospects of heavy storms.

Bikes encourage teamwork, creativity
One of the first stops after entering Wakarusa is a circular area where people ride bicycles, if you could call them that.There are tall bikes and short bikes. Bikes with three tires, and some with four. One has a periscope fashioned out of a pony keg; another uses truck tires to get around.They're all part of the Tour de Fat, as in Fat Tire Beer, organized by employees of the New Belgium Brewing Company.

Teepee keeps festival camaraderie alive
Amid the countless tents that dot plots of land at Clinton State Park, one stands above all others. Literally.The 18-foot tall teepee that Mark and Tammy Finnell, of Burr Oak, erected Wednesday night draws all kinds of visitors. That's why they have brought it to Wakarusa for the past two years.
