Equality Coalition endorses city candidates

Here's a little more news on an endorsement for the upcoming City Commission race.

After we reported earlier today that organizations for local Realtors and for Lawrence firefighters had made political endorsements, the Lawrence chapter of the Kansas Equality Political Action Committee sent us its official endorsements.

The group — which is working to convince city leaders to legally protect transgendered individuals from discrimination — is endorsing James Bush, Dennis Constance and Aron Cromwell.

The group previously worked to get the city to approve the first domestic partnership registry in the state.

I hear that several other groups have made endorsements, but we have yet to see those.
