The prime mover of these suits is a Clinton supporter. You were no doubt more tolerant of the meritless suit that Al Gore filed in 2000 which the supreme court also tossed out. Right.

This just in:"Source: Feds take Gov. Blagojevich into custodyDecember 9, 2008 at 8:26 AM | Comments (0) A source said today that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning. The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm the information. A Blagojevich spokesman said he was unaware of the development. "Haven't heard anything -- you are first to call," Lucio Guerrero said in an e-mail.The stunning, early morning visit by authorities to the governor's North Side home came amid revelations that federal investigators had recorded the governor with the cooperation of a longtime confidant and had begun to focus on the possibility that the process of choosing a Senate successor to President-elect Barack Obama could be tainted by pay-to-play politics."http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2008/12/source-feds-take-gov-blagojevich-into-custody.htmlCould another politician for IL be heading for a fall? Mr. Obama still has to face that last hurdle towards the Presidency, Monday's upcoming Electoral College vote. Considering that the facts that in most state's electors could make the decision to vote for somebody else, that the elector's names and addresses are public information, a true conspiracy theorist could wonder if an organized effort of undue pressure on the individual electors could change the outcome of the Nov 4th national vote.

Tom,Are you referring to this Annenberg Foundation, started in 1989, who contributed $10 million to the Ronald Reagan Foundation? Surely, if they supported Ronald Reagan's Foundation, they have to be above reproach. http://www.reaganfoundation.org/press... terms of the accusations against the Illinois governor, if they are true, he should spend time in jail and he is despicable no matter what party he belongs to. It's even more despicable because his platform was all about cleaning up politics as usual in Illinois. Former governor Ryan, a Republican, was incredibly corrupt and is spending some time in jail right now (his was sentenced to six years) for racketeering and fraud.

Alia, You should know these types of things will never end precisely because of the group you call out - 'the far right fringe'. This holds for far left or far anything for that matter. I remember the Clinton years, traveling all over the country's backroads for my job and AM radio was all there was to listen to. Limbaugh's anti-Bill rhetoric was nauseating. I've always found it impossible to listen to any such pundits when there's never ANY positive about the 'other' side, according to them. Hannity may be a smart guy, but when such people rail incessantly without quarter they can't be lent credence. Why does bozo come to mind?On a karma note, anyone else hear that Ann Coulter had an accident and had to get her jaw wired shut? Doesn't that prove the definition of 'poetic justice'?

  16. BigAl (anonymous) says…

Jaywalker, I agree there are kooks are both the far left and far right that make it impossible for any reasonable person, regardless of your political persuasion, to take their arguments seriously. Most of my relatives and many friends are Republican, they are not the ones perpetuating the rumors about Obama's citizenship, him being a Muslim, etc, etc, etc. Though when I heard Obama comment that he finds it relaxing to do dishes, I wondered if he was from another galaxy. :~ )

snap_pop_no_crackle (Anonymous) says… Will the Gov drop a dime on the O'dude?Snap, I think the tapes will only serve to reinforce the idea that Obama didn't want anything to do with the Governor's dirty tricks. Here's what the Governor had to say about Obama. The tapes reveal a two-term governor who no longer wants his job, badly wants cash and is determined to leverage a financial benefit out of his appointment powers. He also appears to think little of the president-elect, whom he calls a "motherf***er" at one point. "F**k him," Blagjoveich says of Obama during a lengthy call with top aides and his wife recorded on November 10th, "For nothing? Alia,Don't wanna freak you out, but I like doing the dishes, too. No clue as to why. I like cooking more though, and my standing rule is whoever cooks doesn't clean and vice versa.I've got a fairly equal representation of both parties in my family and friends, and almost all of them are of the 'rational' type. I do have one buddy who's ultra-with a capital U- left wing, though, and on politics he's absolutely insane! I avoid all conversation on the matter 'cuz it won't do our friendship any good. But as for the rest, I'm always pleased at the discussions and there's hardly ever a mention of the unsubstantiated gossip/crappola which is always wafting around.

"So though Illinois isn't surprised—this is after all the home of the Chicago Way—the national media must be shocked. They've been clinging to the ridiculous notion that Chicago is Camelot for months now, cleaving to the idea with the willfulness of stubborn children. It must help them see Obama as some pristine creature, perhaps a gentle faun of a magic forest, unstained by our grubby politics, a bedtime story for grown-ups who insist upon fairy tales. But now the national media may finally be forced to confront reality."http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/chi-kass-10-dec10,0,7674669.column

  35. snap_pop_no_crackle (anonymous) says…

How's about this challenge?"The federal campaign finance law requires campaigns to report the name, address, occupation and employer of every contributor who gives more than $200. Yet according to the Washington Post, National Journal and Newsmax, the Obama campaign took (or failed to take) steps to ensure it was not alerted to problem donations. Some of the acts and omissions are so cavalier, it's hard to believe they weren't intentional. For example, the Post reported that the Obama campaign accepted prepaid credit cards that are untraceable, and National Journal reported that the campaign didn't implement a verification procedure to even match the names of contributors using regular credit cards with the names and addresses of the credit card holders. When asked about it, the Obama campaign said such matching wasn't "available in the credit card processing industry." That is completely untrue--such verification procedures are offered by companies that service credit-card transactions, as well as by banks and telecommunications companies (and was standard procedure for the McCain campaign). In contrast to the McCain campaign, the Obama campaign also refused to divulge the names of the millions of small-time donors who contributed (many repeatedly) under $200 to the campaign (totaling $218 million), saying it was "too difficult." However, as Neil Munro of National Journal reported, there are "few technical obstacles to sorting and identifying small-scale donors." Maybe this is just the first time you people have seen a black family with a father, mother and two children, all living together, parents working and responsible, and so much visable love between him and her.
