Bill Self’s Hawk Talk radio show set to begin a new season Tuesday

Kansas head coach Bill Self talks with media members at the Hotel Ambassador upon the Jayhawks' arrival in Wichita on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.

It’s Hawk Talk time for another season of Kansas basketball, as KU coach Bill Self will join Voice of the Jayhawks Brian Hanni for an hour each week to talk about the week that was and what’s ahead for the Kansas men’s basketball team.

Hawk Talk will air weekly during the season from 6-7 p.m. on most Jayhawk Radio IMG Network stations and the first edition will hit the airwaves Tuesday live from Johnny’s Tavern West in Lawrence.

The show, which has been running throughout Self’s time in charge of the program, typically is broken down into a variety of segments, with special guests, audience questions and even call-in questions all being squeezed into the hour-long broadcast.

It features a more candid look at Self’s personality and often is a mix of comedic moments and honest breakdowns of what’s going on with the team.

The 2018-19 Hawk Talk schedule will run now through the end of the regular season in mid-March. Big 12 tournament play opens on March 13 and the NCAA Tournament begins March 21.
