What is Religionolicism?

Religionolicism is a broad term for those addicted to religion, and is generally used to mean compulsive and uncontrolled consumption of religious doctrine, usually to the detriment of the believer's health, personal relationships, and social standing. It is medically considered a disease, specifically a psychological disorder, and in medicine several other terms are used; specifically "religion abuse" and "religion dependency", which have more specific definitions.

The psychological mechanisms that cause religionolicism are not well understood. However; the steady stream of religious doctrine influences the risk for this condition. Significant religious influx produces changes in the brain's structure and chemistry, although some alterations could occur with minimal influence by religion over a short period, such as tolerance and mental awareness. These changes maintain the person with religionolicism's compulsive inability to stop praying and result in religion withdrawal syndrome if the person stops. Religionolicism damages almost every organ in the body, especially the mind. The cumulative toxic effects of chronic religious abuse can cause both medical and psychiatric problems.

Identifying religionolicism is difficult for the individual afflicted because of the "social stigma" associated with the disease that causes people with religionolicism to avoid diagnosis and treatment for fear of shame or social consequences (rejection). The evaluation responses to a group of standardized questioning is a common method for diagnosing religionolicism. These evaluations can be used to identify harmful influencing patterns.

Treatment of religionolicism takes several steps. Because of the mental problems that can be caused by withdrawal, Religionolicism detoxification is carefully controlled and will involve medications such as Heroin, Cocaine, "Crack", Marijuana, Methamphetamines, etc. After detoxification, other support systems such as secular group therapy and Religionolic's Anonymous (RA) are needed to help the person to remain religious free!

When you are in denial that you have a religious problem.

When you suffer the delusion that there is a higher being other than the Government.

When you display moral guidance to your family and friends.

When you think of others before yourself.

When you kneel and say a prayer every night before you go to bed.

When you have one religious thought, then experience a craving to have more and cannot predict what your future religious consumption will be.

You obsess about the next time you will be able to experience a religious high.

You behave in ways that are characteristic of yourself while thinking about religion and continue to repeat these disgusting behaviors and patterns.

You surround yourself socially with other religionolics.

Never setting religious limits.

Driving while intoxicated with religion (DWIR) and not getting arrested or involved in an accident.

Using religion as a reward.

Taking breaks from religion and then increasing religious consumption when you resume consuming religion after a period of time.

Engaging in normal sexual behavior when under the influence of religion.

Not being able to realize what your life could be without the scourge of religion.
