Sebelius orders inquiry into Guard treatment of women

Here are today's headlines from Kansas government:[(KTKA) Sebelius orders military investigation:][1] When New York Times Magazine investigated the sexual abuse of women in the military, the results were shocking. Governor Kathleen Sebelius immediately requested an investigation by the Pentagon, and asked the Kansas Adjutant General to look into the treatment of women in the Kansas National Guard.[(AP) Abortion reporting proviso put in budget:][2] Three state agencies would be prohibited from spending any money unless they provided more information about abortion providers and late-term procedures under provisions added Thursday by the House to a spending bill.[(LJW) Sebelius has doubts about part of health plan:][3] Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is expected to sign into law the Legislature's top health care bill, but she expressed skepticism about one major part of it.[(Wichita Eagle) House adds funds for presidential primary:][4] Kansas would have one of the earliest presidential primaries in the nation and have a rare Saturday election under an amendment approved Thursday by the state House of Representatives[(Harris News Service) Caregivers could get small raise:][5] Workers who bathe, feed and otherwise care for mentally and physically disabled Kansans gained hope for a small pay raise in Thursday's House budget debate.[(LJW) Crumbling classrooms still in play:][6] Lawmakers are waiting until the last moment to try to fix crumbling college classrooms. On day two of the wrap-up session Thursday, the Senate approved a plan to patch up repairs at universities, but the House failed to advance a proposal.[(AP) House overrides Sebelius gun veto:][7] Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' veto of a bill preventing local governments from imposing additional restrictions on Kansans carrying concealed guns was overridden Thursday in the House, but she will have to wait to see whether the Senate follows suit.[(LJW) KUMC restrictions added:][8] Despite an earlier veto by Gov.
