The Fairness Doctrine and the Myth of the Liberal Media
Advertisement
A simple exercise in logic would tell us that opposition to the Fairness Doctrine (http://www.museum.tv/archives/etv/F/htmlF/fairnessdoct/fairnessdoct.htm), thereby allowing all viewpoints to be aired would benefit the conservatives fighting against the evil "liberal media."I find this to be a little curious, and am posting this blog to find out how people who hold the opinion that the media is full of liberal bias AND that the fairness doctrine is bad reconcile this apparent conflict.Personally, I oppose the Fairness Doctrine because I think it is a 1st Amendment issue, but am curious to what others think. Here's the story that got me thinking about this:http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/02/18/white-house-opposes-fairness-doctrine/
