If you’re looking for some good live music, live art and some food truck eats tonight, head on over to Kansas City’s Crossroads Summer Block Party presented by Golden Sound Records and The Pitch. No cover charge, you guys. Festivities start at 6 p.m.

These two Lawrence bands are in the lineup:

La Guerre:
Playing from 8:15 to 8:45, La Guerre is the solo project of Cowboy Indian Bear’s Katlyn Conroy. “La Guerre” is french for “The War” and was taken from the title of a lengthy a capella piece she sang in high school. Comprised of Conroy on vocals, Lindsey Kennedy on keyboard and vocals, Adam Brumback on drums and Esteban Gomez on guitar, the dark pop outfit pairs Conroy’s deep melodramatic lyrics with happy, dance-provoking instrumentals.

Forrester
Playing from 11:15 to midnight, Forrester is a post-rock, five-piece guitar, shoe-gaze sensation who won last year’s Farmers’ Ball, and used its winning to put out their debut EP “Antithesis.” Forrester’s atmospheric electro-rock sound — made by Brian Rogers, Joe Newman, Connor Creighton, Will Chertoff and Steven LaCour — will bring the block party to a close, and no doubt, it will be a high-energy, epic way to end the night. Especially seeing as their “mission” with their music is this: “We’re trying really, really hard to save the world.”
