Middle Twin/ Ebony Tusks

Middle Twin is teaming up with Ebony Tusks for a special free Love Garden show this Final Friday at 7 p.m. Check out art exhibits in the downtown area before making your way over for a double whammy of hip-hop by Martinez Hillard (of local band Cowboy Indian Bear) and electronic dance music by Middle Twin. Both acts should be enough to get you hyped for the remainder of Friday night.
7 p.m. Friday, Love Garden, 822 Massachusetts St., free.

The Sluts / Nicholas St. James

Ryan Wise and Kris Dover of Lawrence duo The Sluts are releasing a brand-new EP called “The Loser” this Saturday night. A follow up to last year’s full-length “Virile,” the grunge two-piece delivers sleazy, uncensored music on unsavory experiences, very much in keeping with the band name.

On the same night, Nicholas St. James plans to release his EP, “Honeysuckle.” Folk singer St. James has been flying under the radar in Lawrence for a while now, his music pursuits just now taking off. The four-song EP showcases his gruff vocals soaked in heartbreak and bluesy guitar licks and distortion from meddling with guitar pedals. This genuine, moody local will surely steal some hearts at this release show.
10 p.m. Saturday, The Replay, 946 Massachusetts St., $3.
