Orgone

Simply self-proclaimed: “Eight souls from Los Angeles who will move your ass and melt your face.”
If you’re all about ’60s and ’70s psychedelic soul and funk, you’re all about Orgone. One of the most sought after backing bands, they’ve recorded instrumentals for Alicia Keys’ “Teenage Love Affair” and “Wreckless Love”, Cee Lo Green’s “Fool For Love” and Estelle’s “Pretty Please.” Die-hard funk fans will feel the cosmic connection as they bring new album “New You” to the stage.
Thursday, Oct. 24, at The Bottleneck (737 New Hampshire St). 7:30 p.m. $11.

SAVOY

The combination of two DJs and a drummer makes for a distinct brand of dance electronic music that features sounds of funk, rock, French House, world music, techno and probably a few others. With high-quality studio recordings and high-energy performances, the Colorado-based band is bringing the booty-bumping beats and a lazer show aka rave party. Get Lazer’d (their words, not mine).
Friday, Oct. 25, at The Bottleneck (737 New Hampshire St). 7:30 p.m. $15.

Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds

With a name like that, how can you not go? Kid Congo Powers is a guitarist who has been around since the ’70s and a part of influential bands The Gun Club, Nick Cave’s Bad Seeds, and The Cramps. Now with the Pink Monkey Birds, they are putting out devilish tracks on latest album “Haunted Head.” Seems like the perfect demented trash-rock tunes for the season. Also, according to Wikipedia he was the president of the The Ramones Unofficial Fan Club so he seems like a class act, if you ask me.
Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Replay Lounge (946 Massachusetts St.) 10 p.m. $3.

Aaron Carter

We may hate to admit it, but back in the day we all wanted candy just as much as we wanted Aaron Carter. And in keeping with falling in love with athletes, we all tuned in to “How I Beat Shaq” because if anyone could do it, Carter could, at age 14. If you’re not yet over the pop singer who started his solo career at age 9, here’s your shot at fangirling harder than the last time (you don’t have to take it).
Tuesday, Oct. 29, at The Bottleneck (737 New Hampshire St). 7:30 p.m. $14.

Passion Pit [KANSAS CITY PICK]

If Carter isn’t your bag, head out to Kansas City for some synthy sensations by Passion Pit. If you’re into Michael Angelakos’s intense high-pitched vocals (I know you are) and bands that let children into a recording studio (should be a cardinal sin) on Manners hit, “Little Secrets,” this is the concert for you. The Joy Formidable is the opening act of the night.
Tuesday, Oct. 29, at The Midland (1228 Main St.) 8 p.m. $33 in advance.

Joey Bada$$

Headlining the Smoker’s Club Tour, Ab-Soul and Joey Bada$$ have teamed up to bring “stoner rap” along with The Underachievers, Chevy Woods and the rest of the Pro-Era crew formed by Bada$$. Joey Bada$$ is an independent hip hop artist from Brooklyn who gained popularity through two acclaimed mixtapes, and his appearance on A$AP Rocky’s “1 Train” (third verse, check it out). Both Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar are impressed with this MC’s poetic flow and incredible beats. Check out his 17-song free album, Summer Knights. *note: the tour requires you “bring ya lungs” so please oblige.
Wednesday, Oct. 30, at The Granada (1020 Massachusetts St). $20 in advance
