In the days of yesteryear, social networking may have been simply a way to meet people who have the same interests as you. But today, social media have turned online social networks into extremely useful tools in the online AND offline business worlds.

Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube aren’t just for your teenager to “express” themselves anymore. In today’s business world, social media can help almost any type of business grow.

The only problem is that many people get frustrated and confused with the basic functions of various social media. Not to worry, we are here to help. In an effort to help the social media community of Lawrence grow, we are helping the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce with two upcoming workshops on social media and offering our services pro bono. The workshops will provide a brief glimpse into the not-so-scary world of social media and work to help you understand and evaluate the benefits and challenges presented by this type of media.

The chamber is charging $25 for a single session or $35 for both sessions for Chamber members. If you are not a member, the tickets are $30 each or $50 for both sessions.

The workshops will be from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. February 10 & 17 at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St.
