Sale items help create that designer inspired look inexpensively

Oh boy, Sunday’s Michaels ad is making me giddy! I love all the fall stuff – the colors are so rich and I’ve been ready for this change of season.

Like I’ve mentioned in previous blogs, I’ve been working with my fall décor. I pretty much use the same decorations each year and make a few additions when I see something I like at a reasonable price.

On facebook, I have been getting
Nell Hills blog updates. Mary Carol Garrity recently posted a fall decorating blog. Her ideas are great. I especially like her tablescapes and vignettes. The arrangements look so effortless, and I like the way Mary Carol incorporates nature into her décor.

When looking at these blogs, I think about items I already own and how I can incorporate her ideas into my home. And usually with minimal additions, I can recreate, to my liking, some of the arrangements shown.

So when I go through the Michaels ad, I’m keeping in mind what I may need to finish up my fall decorating. I can definitely use the $1-$3 candles. There are many items at 40%, 50%, and 60% off. There is a 50% off a regular price item coupon for that “must have” purchase.

I also enjoy going through Michaels’ floral department. There are lots of ideas to gather inspiration from.

I received a Pier 1 Imports
ad in the mail this past week. Lots of fall ideas in this catalog as well. I usually shop Pier 1 seasonal items after the fact, when the merchandise is marked down.

This year, I feel like I’m ahead of the game than I’ve been in previous years. Since I already have most of my fall decorations in place, it’s just a matter of tweaking here and there and incorporating a few new items.

If you have any fall decorating ideas or visit web sites for your inspiration, please let me know. I’m always very interested in new and different ways to decorate.
