Shopping off the clearance rack

If you haven't seen it already, it's Kohl's cash time. You can't miss it if you see today's Kohl's flyer that splashes "Anniversary Sale. Take and extra 15%, 20% or 30% off everything." Now until Wednesday, Sept. 23, you'll receive $10 Kohl's cash for every $50 you spend. Also going on is the extra 15%-30% off your purchase when you use your Kohl's charge. If your flyer with your percentage off hasn't come to you in the mail, the cashiers have scratch off cards at the registers. I was at the Lawrence Kohl's the other day, and their clearance racks are still pretty loaded. I don't mind shopping out of season, if it's going to save me big bucks! And your percentage off applies to clearance items as well.

I'm all about shopping the clearance racks, so I have to share this deal I found on Thursday at Target. I was looking for some end of season clothing (I'm taking a short trip to Florida), and I found a pair of Merona shorts for $3.75. Yes, you read that correctly, three dollars and seventy-five cents! So, please, when you're out there, it's not always about shopping with coupons or the ads, sometimes it's just browsing the clearance racks, and even if it's out of season, tuck it away till next summer.

I'd love to hear about your clearance finds.

Perhaps you can find a cheap baby warming gift for Jenn! I won't tell her what you paid.....

I don't pay full price for my kids clothes ever.... I always buy off the clearance rack and I love it when Target does 75% off. I bought all my Halloween decorations a few years back from Target too when everything was 90% off.

I don't remember the last time I bought something for myself or the 4 kids at full price. It's usually at least 50% off if not significantly more! Kohl's and JCPenney's are great at end of season to buy for next year - so many shirts I buy for $1 or just over.

Sears was the best find I've had this fall - I bought my husband 3 pairs of $38 EACH Dockers slacks (khaki, black, and navy even!!) - take a guess??? $4 EACH. My teenage son - $3 Levis jeans. Myself? 2 capris and 2 shorts - $2-3 each.
We're just getting into buying junior (size 7) girls stuff and that seems really hard to find good deals. Any ideas?? Divas just cost more, right ? :-)

I have to agree that is just silly to pay fully price when its just not necessary to do so. If most peoples kids are like my son, buy up a size for the next season for the jeans and pants and tshirts. I love leaving having saved more than I spent. Being in a recession doesnt mean our fashion should be in one too.

94 cent girls 4-10 size low cut socks. Not a huge savings compared to some, but saved $6 a pack. And girls 4-10 are the same size as women's. Girls socks are often cheaper for the same size as the womens.

Plato's Closet is good sometimes for the divas in your home. I also shop eBay. Also you can sometimes find a larger selection of the junior sizes at the mall in Topeka
