Oscar Extravaganza

THE FIRST ANNUAL SCENE-STEALERS OSCAR PARTY/PICK ‘EM CONTEST!!!I’d like to be the first to extend a warm welcome one and all to spend a night of drunken revelry with myself and J.D. on Sunday March 5, 2005. Movie fans across the globe will congregate on Louise’s Downtown Bar at 6 p.m. for the Scene-Stealers Oscar Extravaganza. Head upstairs to watch the telecast live on a giant movie screen, place your bets on the hottest races this year, and drink until you forget how badly Maria Bello and Joan Allen were screwed out of nominations! Go to www.scene-stealers.com to download and print off a ballot so you can check off your picks and bring them to the party. The last bellot will be taken right before the first category is announced- usually about 7:10 pm, so plan on going out earlier than you usual “bar time.” After all, it is a Sunday night. It’s five measly bucks to play, and whomever predicts the most categories and gets the most points will all the cash that came through the door (minus some small expenses)! It’s like those local trivia games except nobody knows the answers until the end of the night. Winners will go home with enough money to buy their own limo ride home! Download and print off two Oscar Party ballots on the front page of www.scene-stealers.com. Bring one to turn in and one with your picks so you can follow along with the categories as they are announced.Formal dress is not required, but if you want to dress up and walk the red carpet, go right ahead. We will. Also, we’ll be watching the telecast on a big screen that’s custom-built for this party. There are two original short films up on the site as of today – “Brokeback Prairie” and “Oscar Time Part One.” More are on the way! Next week J.D. and I will be on video at www.scene-stealers.com, predicting the six biggest categories (one a day) to give everyone an unfair advantage. The compitetion will be fierce, but somebody’s going home with some serious buckley.
