Masked Gunman At Wal-Mart

Holy Moly! A masked gunman-yes, carrying a gun- walked into Wal-mart last night and walked to the Western Union counter. I was unable to discern if he actually got any money, due to the fact this happened during my 3-year-olds birthday party and I was having a heck of a time hearing the scanner above the chaos. The guy got away, and when I went to bed last night they were still looking for him. Check out the details at www.lawrencepolicescanner.blogspot.com

Lots of other stuff you don't know about either...

OMG! Mario Little was arrested! Have you heard it on the scanner? Someone should blog about it! Maybe one of those miserable, miserable people who you THINK comes back to read your blog.

After the first or second of your amazing(ly boring) blogs this miserable, miserable poster no longer reads them. This one cheered me up some though after reading the comments. But keep it up, you will have a few defenders, at least for a while. The stripper blogs finally fizzled out when most of us figured out she thrived on attention, good or bad. This reminds me a lot of her tras . . . .

Funny, it seems like there is only 1 or 2 people who dislike this blog. I have read the comments these people post on other articles and, all I've got to say is WOW! Obviously miserable, miserable people. And one of them claims to be a retired techer!!! Bahahahahaha!!!!!!! Yeah, right is all I've got to say about that. I guess if some people have to put others down to feel better, then I am glad to help. Obviously they are reading my blog though, too bad they have to do it in a locked room with noone watching. Just read it, be yourself, and maybe you will get a friend or two. Just sayin'.. ;) Have a great day, I've got a yard full of leaves to rake.

We are looking for people to monitor the scanner and blog about it. All of this can be done with earphones, a computer, and a good internet connection. We will give you admin. access to the Police scanner blog. We will train you on 10 codes, and the rest of the signals. It's easy.

There is a complaint every single day on Redbud Lane. In fact, there could be on average 2-3 per day. I think it gets my vote for the worst neighborhood in town.

I know I'm late to the party, but just heard police sirens and checked the blog, and saw a link to this. I've been following the blog for a couple weeks now. Love it. I don't have a TV and don't listen to the radio unless in a car. I read the newspaper almost everyday and often notice stories that were on the scanner blog the night before. It is nice to know the areas to avoid. i.e. wrecks on Iowa, or possible bomb at motel on 6th st. just blocks from my house. Keep up the good work Chelsea and other bloggers. Remember nothing good happens on Redbud, and don't burn the popcorn. :)

I'll answer your 4 paragraphs, gate keeper:

Not all these come from 1 person. They come into a an administrated site and are auto-posted by people with the correct clearance. It looks like "chelsea" is at the helm all day and night, but she's not. It's more than one person. And, anyone in their right mind would go check out the scanner when you hear "ARMED ROBBERY". Actually, everyone at the party got quiet, and listened to the report coming across together AS A FAMILY, for a few min. We blogged it, and went back to cake and ice cream. I was there. It takes :30 sec to blog something like this. Get your nose out of people's personal business.

You expect Police, and Amber Alert services to be adequate protection? Go check out the stats on child abduction, or any other heinous crime. It's a small world "gatekeeper". You are saying there shouldn't be another service that reports criminal activity in certain areas? We have Lawyers and Realtors on this site every day. Actually, we average 1500 hits per day. I don't see 1500 people per day asking you for your opinion.

There was a missing person's alert that day. It was called in between 4:30-5 am. Because of our police scanner, and other info we were able to call police and tell them the exact location of the person. Do you know how long it takes to freeze to death in Conditions like this? Why don't you go outside for a while and think about it, gatekeeper. What if the missing persons report went on for 2-3 hours, until then they found a BODY? Also, no one cares how you treat your father. Any one who has to even mention something like that in the first place is suspect to me. And what do you mean "the news" you hear quite frequently? Like the next day? Where are you getting "the news"? That is a completely ignorant comment. You hear the news you are "allowed" to hear. Hours later at best. Sometimes 24 hours later for a missing person.

Yes we do need to know if a dog catcher caught a dog. Sometimes these things can be really important. Go online and look at incidents of maulings from dogs. What if your child was bit walking home from school by an aggressive dog, as I was when I was 8. Then animal control called in APB on description of the animal. Let's now suppose hours go by and the dog winds up digging in trash cans looking for food. Then someone is horribly mauled while they walk out the back door to take the trash out. ANIMAL CONTROL DOES NOT POST STUFF LIKE THIS ONLINE. HOW ELSE WOULD ANYONE KNOW? What if someone called in to animal control the description of the dog, from the blog site. What might seem silly, to you, to report might be critical somewhere else. Gate keeper, there are other people out there in the world besides you. At least 1500 of them. Go back to your deluded sheltered life.

I expect a response from you. One with substance.

So, . . . . when do we get cake?

gatekeeper, looks like you waste an awful lot of time on here saying bad things about people... just saying! I guess you must not have any responsibilities in your life.

On a side note, one thing I was thinking about with the police scanner website that worried me was that you list the address of where the police are going. For example in one case, you said the police were going to check out someone who had information on a crime. My concern is for the safety of the tip giver... now you've told the public they're a "snitch." Couldn't that be dangerous for them?

Oh yeah, cuz we all need to know that someone left their dog out in the cold and that Chesea doesn't think it should be on the scanner cuz dogs have fur.

Whatever people.

Does anyone have anything intelligent to blog about this, or is this ljworld blog site strictly for insulting people? The police scanner site could be a valuable tool in apprehending the armed gunman! What if someone saw something, and didn't realize it until they went to this site? And then that info led to a capture? Better watch what you say about people. You might be eating your words soon, and it will taste like crow.

"he who knows all", "autie", and "gatekeeper", consider this

What if your child was abducted? What if a neighbor saw something, and didn't put 2+2 together until they saw the blog site? We need all the help we can get when it comes to crime.

There has already been a case where a lost senior citizen with Alzheimer's , was found and recovered because of the police scanner blog. It was 20 degrees outside that day.

Would you like to respond to this "he who knows all"? What if that was your mother?

Where is the on line link to listen to the scanner? There used to be one here.

The nerve of your three year old having a birthday party during all of the excitement on your police scanner.

I also hope that the masked man will check your schedule the next time he does something like this.

How inconsiderate.

Sheesh people...........everybody should have a hobby, even mothers. God Forbid, now Chelsea, you go watch that little one, even if she/he is sleeping, you watch and wait for him/her to wake up...don't you dare do a single other thing. Unless you had plans to bake some cupcakes. ONLY, for the child mind you.

Chelsea - you my dear need to get a life. I went to that site. It seems all you do all day is post every little thing you hear on the scanner on there. Do you actually spend time with this 3 year old you claim to have? Sorry, but it just seems wrong that you feel it's your duty to regurgitate every little thing you hear on the scanner and some of your comments are not very nice that you add to what you heard on the scanner. Do you really think it's important to post such things as a couple fighting in a parking lot, room mates arguing, etc....?

Did you post all those minute by minute updates on the police scanner blog?

I'm just happy the masked gunman didn't show up for pin the tail on the donkey. And I'm glad to hear I still have something in common with 3 year olds. To be young..at heart.

Why were you listening to a police scanner during your child's birthday?
