Man found stabbed in a Lawrence park

Operation 100 News report.

Lawrence Police are investigating after a man was found stabbed at Centennial Park early Monday.

Officers were called to the park, located in the 600 block of Rockledge Road, around 1:30 a.m. on reports of a man injured from a fight.

Lawrence Medics reported the man had been stabbed multiple times and described his injuries as serious. He was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses were only able to provide a very vague description of the suspect and police are still working to determine where in the area the stabbing occurred. The victim was found on the west side of the park, near the rocket.

Radio traffic indicates the incident may have happened closer to 9th Street and Centennial Drive.

Numerous accidents on Interstate 70 leave at least eight injured

Operation 100 News.

Lawrence Police and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical crews responded on at least four different accidents on the Interstate 70 turnpike Sunday morning. The first accident was reported shortly after 3 a.m..

Three of the accidents were near the east Lawrence interchange while the fourth accident was closer to the west Lawrence interchange.

At least three ambulances responded to the area to check for injuries.

One vehicle crashed on its side, leaving two people with serious injuries on westbound Interstate 70 at milepost 205.8.

At least six people at various crash scenes were treated for minor injuries.

There were also accidents working on Johnson County highways. Several on Interstate 435 and Interstate 35, one on K-10 near De Soto.

Domestic dispute turns violent, two stabbed in Lawrence apartment.

Operation 100 News report.

Lawrence Police are investigating a domestic dispute that turned violent early Tuesday.

Police were called to an apartment in the 1400 block of Coventry Manor around 1:10 a.m. on reports of a stabbing.

Medics arrived to find a 22-year-old man with a serious stab wound to his lower back and a female with minor lacerations. The man has been transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Initial reports indicate that the female stabbed the male and then turned the knife on herself. She has been detained for questioning.

Lawrence Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. No other details were immediately available.

One person hospitalized following reported stabbing in Lawrence

Updated: Saturday 4:33 a.m..

Police are investigating after two people were found with lacerations in Eudora early Saturday.

Shortly before 3 a.m., Eudora Police and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical crews were dispatched to an address in the 1500 block of Savage Street, on a reported cutting.

Eudora Police reported that the incident allegedly occurred in Lawrence and the victims were then transported to the Eudora address.

A medic unit transported one person to a Kansas City area trauma center with serious injuries, said to include a laceration to the neck. Two medic units responded on the call, only one transported a victim from the scene.

Lawrence Police continue to investigate and at least one officer is at the hospital trying to get more information from the victim.

It remains unclear where, or when, the incident occurred.

No other details were immediately available.

Interstate 70 reopens to one lane in each direction following tractor trailer accident and fire.

Updated Lawrence Journal-World report

6 a.m. Update: KDOT reports that one lane in eastbound and one lane westbound are now open again. Traffic continues to move slowly through the scene.

Original Report: If you are planning on commuting to work by way of the Kansas Turnpike early this morning, you are going to have to reconsider your route. As of 5 a.m., all eastbound and westbound traffic is being forced to exit the turnpike due to as serious injury accident about a mile east of the East Lawrence Interchange.

Douglas County firefighters from the Lawrence Department, Wakarusa Township fire responded, along with Reno Township Fire of Leavenworth County to the scene of an accident involving a tractor trailer near mile marker 205. The accident was dispatched around 4:20 this morning after dispatchers received numerous calls regarding a tractor trailer crash and fire in the median.

Douglas County Deputies were first to arrive on the scene and were able to report that the driver was out of the truck and reporting that the tank trailer is empty. Lawrence firefighters arrived on the scene to report that the tractor trailer had rolled to its side and sustained "major damage."

The driver of the truck has been transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Incident command reports there is "significant debris" across the highway and a "diesel fuel leak." A Kansas Turnpike Authority representative has been requested to respond to the scene. It is unclear how long the roadway will remain blocked.
