November 9th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire Medical wrap up
Lawrence Police responded on three disturbances this morning. No serious injuries or arrests were reported.
Police also responded on two burglary alarms, one of which was at the Applebee's on 6th Street. An officer checking the outside of the building located a door on the backside of the building was open. Several other officers responded and assisted in clearing the building's interior. No one was found inside.
At 6:48 a Wakarusa Township firefighter reported a car accident in the westbound lanes of K-10 near the East Hills Business Park. After contacting the involved drivers, the firefighter reported that there were two people injured and requested a response from Fire Medical crews. A Medic unit arrived on scene a short time later to report the involved vehicles had sustained moderate damage. Two people were said to have minor injuries. Initial reports from the scene indicated that a motorist was westbound on K-10 when a truck pulled out in front of him. The man was unable to avoid the collision and struck the rear of the truck. That driver was transported to LMH by a Medic unit. He was said to be wearing a seat belt and his vehicle's airbags did deploy.
None of this morning's activity was reported to have involved any serious injuries.
