KUPD reported one arrest for OUI and Unlawful use of a Driver's License.

Pretty quiet this morning in Douglas County.

Police in Lawrence conducted three vehicle stops.

Officers also responded on one fireworks complaint in the 800 block of Michigan Street around 2:28 a.m..

Police also handled a non-injury accident in the 4400 block of W 25th Place.

Lawrence Police conducted nine vehicle stops this morning, one resulting in an OUI related arrest.

Officers were also kept busy with six fireworks complaints, five of which occurred within 30 minutes of each other.

Police responded on at least three disturbances as well.

None of this morning's activity was reported to have involved any serious injuries.

The National Weather Service in Topeka also extended the Heat Advisory until 9 p.m. tonight. More information on this extended time can be found here from the National Weather Service.

July 4th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

A little bit more activity early this morning in Douglas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol, Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Lawrence Police each recorded DWI/OUI related arrests in the 2 a.m. hour.

Around 3:45 a.m., a Lawrence Officer transporting a prisoner to the County Jail reported a non-injury accident near 19th and Haskell. That Officer reported one of the involved vehicles airbags had deployed and confirmed that no one was injured.

Shortly after 6:40 a.m., Fire/Medical and Police responded to the Amtrack depot for a person on board an approaching passenger train who was believed to be suffering from food poisoning.

Officers also investigated at least three disturbances and two noise complaints. None of this morning's activity was reported to have involved any serious injuries.

The Heat Advisory, issued yesterday, remains in effect until 8 p.m. tonight. More information on the Heat Advisory can be found here from the National Weather Service offices in Topeka.

Police responded on two burglary alarms and conducted one vehicle stop after 2 a.m..

LDCFM and Baldwin City Fire responded on one Medical Emergency each.

July 1st Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap

Lawrence Police were kept busy this morning with disturbances. Two people were taken into custody shortly after 2 a.m., in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street. At least 12 Officers and one deputy were on the scene by the time things settled down. The male that was arrested was transported to LMH by Medics after LPD used a taser on him. His injuries were minor and he has since been booked into the county jail. No other injuries were reported. The male faces charges of Interference with the Duties of an Officer and Disorderly Conduct. The female arrested faces a Disorderly Conduct charge. Officers also responded on several noise complaints and an alcohol complaint before 2:30 a.m..

Police checked on several reports of fireworks this morning between 2:30 and 3 a.m..

An arrest was made shortly after 3:30 a.m., following a domestic disturbance. The subject arrested faces a Domestic Battery charge.

Sheriff's Deputies reported making a DWI related arrest near N 400 Road and Lone Creek.
