The rest of this morning’s activity was fairly ordinary for Lawrence until shortly before 5 a.m.. Police received a report of an aggravated burglary in the 1200 block of New York Street. More than five officers responded after emergency dispatchers reported that the 911 caller said he was hearing someone in a lower level of the address. The first LPD officer to arrive reported an unsecured door on the back of the address. When backing officers arrived they cleared the house. No one, other than the resident, was inside. The resident was reportedly armed with a weapon when he called 911. That resident reported a 24-inch TV was missing from the address. No information regarding a possible suspect or suspects was immediately available.
